Description

Your journey to Tibet starts with a spectacular flight over the snow capped Himalayan mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m) and others. You will spend 3 nights in Lhasa in the center of the old city visiting important sites such as the Potala Palace of Kings and Dalai Lamas, the Jokhang Temple, Sera Monasterry and the Barkhor market. The stay in Lhasa also gives us plenty of time for acclimatization.

From Lhasa, we will travel southwest to reach Everest Base Camp. On the way, we will stop and explore the towns of Gyantse, Shigatse and Shegar (New Tingri) each with its own unique history. We will visit ancient monasteries, secluded retreat sites and immerse ourselves in the Tibetan Buddhist culture. The varied scenery along the way is amazing as we drive alongside rivers, traverse high passes, and pass nomadic herdsmen wandering across the wide arid plains and awe-inspiring mountain peaks.
