Description

The Langtang Valley Trek features beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, and awe-inspiring views of the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains. It is one of the most diverse treks in Nepal offering an opportunity to explore Tibetan and Tamang villages, climb small peaks and visit glaciers situated at relatively low elevation.

The trip begins with a scenic 7-8 hour drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. The trail continues through the Langtang Valley and the verdant gorge of the Langtang Khola. Rhododendrons blend into moss-hung pine trees and you’ll encounter occasional yaks trundling down pastures on their way home. As we climb higher towards Kyanjin Gompa, the scenery changes into alpine meadows and glacial moraine. The highest point on the trek is Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft) from where you are rewarded with mesmerizing views of peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,246m), Kimshung (6,781m), and Yansa Tsenji (6,575m). Keep an eye out for Blue Poppy flowers, families of playful langur monkeys and the iridescent Impeyan pheasant, the national bird of Nepal.

Note -

The areas in and around Langtang Valley and Kyanjin Gompa were severely damaged by the earthquakes in 2015. Today, trails and tourism facilities have been reconstructed and it is deemed safe for trekkers to visit this area.
