Experience one of the best trekking trips in Nepal - Poon Hill in the Annapurna region.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is the perfect short trek to do in the Annapurna region of the Nepalese Himalayas. Featuring classic mountain scenery of the Himalayan foothills, charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs and Magars and dense rhododendron forests of sub tropical valleys, the trek delivers an unforgettable experience.

Your journey starts in Kathmandu from where you will take a short flight to the beautiful city of Pokhara. You will then drive to Nayapul and start trekking in the Annapurna foothills towards Birethanti, a prosperous town set beside Modi River. You will continue walking before spending the night at a teahouse in Tirkhedhunga (1,577 m). On the second day, the trail gently climbs through villages, cultivated terraces and rhododendron and oak forests before reaching Ghorepani. You will wake up very early next morning and hike uphill for about an hour to reach Poon Hill (3,195m) - renowned for breathtaking views of sunrise over the panorama of the snow capped giants.

You will then trek down to Ghorepani, have breakfast and start the trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village of the Gurung community. The next day, you will leave Ghandruk behind and descend to Nayapul, the end point of the trek. The rest of the day is free to relax and explore the lake city of Pokhara. 

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu where you will be met by our team member and escorted to your hotel. Enjoy Nepali cuisine for dinner and dance to folk tunes. Meals D
Day 2: Fly to Pokhara and drive to Nayapul, the starting point of your trek. Following the main trail of Birethanti, hike along the Bhurghundi river and uphill through fertile farms of rice, maize, and millet fields until you reach Tikhedhunga (1,570 m). Meals B
Day 3: Start your day with a steep climb up a stone stairway - 3,767 steps - to the Magar settlement of Ulleri. The trail gradually ascends through villages, cultivated terraces and rhododendron and oak forests to reach Ghorepani (2,840 m). Meals B
Day 4: Climb to Poon Hill (3,200m) before dawn and catch breathtaking views of sunrise over the Himalayas. Continue the trek through a range of landscapes and micro climates to the small settlement of Tadapani. 6-7 hrs trek Meals B
Day 5: Trek to Nayapul via the picturesque Gurung village of Ghandruk and Syauli Bazaar. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara in a private vehicle, check into your hotel and relax. Meals B
Day 6: Spend the day at your leisure. Meals B
Day 7: Fly back to Kathmandu in the morning. Discover cultural and artistic heritage of Kathmandu on a guided tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhu Stupa. Evening farewell dinner with traditional dances. Meals B, D
Day 8: Transfer to airport for international departure. Meals B
