This heritage tour is designed to take you to important Buddhist sites of Nepal with an opportunity to understand the history, traditions and rituals of Nepal's Buddhist communities.

The tour starts in Kathmandu valley with visits to ancient Buddhist Stupas, Tibetan Buddhist Kopan Monastery, and the Golden Temple located in the Newari city of Patan. An overnight excursion to Namo Buddha, the site where the Buddha in one of his previous lives sacrificed his own body to feed a hungry Tigress and her cubs, will give you a chance to exprience the village life of the Tamang people. Then, we will travel to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, and spend two nights exploring the Sacred Garden and other important archaeological sites associated with Siddhartha Gautama's childhood and early adult life. The tour ends in Kathmandu valley with a day of reflection and meditation at a monastery in Pharping. 

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. In the afternoon, you will visit Boudhanath Stupa. This ancient monument, with its massive whitewashed dome and piercing eyes, is an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for local Nepalese and Tibetan Buddhists alike.
Day 2: The day begins with a meditation session at Kopan Monastery of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. You will then drive to the Golden Temple and the temple dedicated to Buddha of Compassion, both located in traditional Newari parts of Kathmandu.
Day 3: After breakfast begins our excursion to Namo Buddha, the site where the Buddha in one of his previous lives sacrificed his body to save a hungry tigress and her cubs. After paying respects, you will transfer to Namo Buddha Resort for an overnight stay.
Day 4: After a relaxing morning in rural Nepal, you will drive to the ancient and beautifully crafted Newari city of Bhaktapur. In the afternoon, you will fly to Bhairahawa and drive for half an hour to Lumbini.
Day 5: Visit the Sacred Garden where Maya Devi gave birth to a son who would later become the Buddha. Magnificent temples built by other Buddhist nations are within walking distance. In the afternoon, you will also visit other important archaeological sites.
Day 6: After breakfast begins the drive towards Chitwan National Park where you will spend two nights. In the afternoon, you will embark on a jungle walk to explore the abundant bird life, flora and fauna of the park and the local Tharu village.
Day 7: A full day of jungle activities including an elephant safari, canoe ride and nature walk.
Day 8: After breakfast start on a 5 hour long drive to Kathmandu. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 9: You have the option (at a supplementary cost) of an early morning flight to view the world’s highest mountain peaks, including Mount Everest. Today you will visit Asura Cave, Pharping where Guru Padmsambhava attained the Mahamudra level of enlightenment
Day 10: International departure.
